Dr unwin is in southport and driving it forward magnificently.
The NHS guidelines haven't changed. Eatwell plate encouraged in the first instance to type 2s, and when you think how that amount of carbs can affect our blood sugars its shocking. No wonder they follow that with 'its progressive'. That said low carb app approved for drs to prescribe which a leap in the right direction.

This is why I want to do a leaflet. To run alongside the existing advice. I cant tread on anyone's toes now that I'm in primary care. So leaflet will say something like 'an alternative approach to controlling blood sugars' or something to that effect.
They certainly don't recommend bs testing every day, several times a day, which to me is the only way to find out what works and what doesnt.
Work in progress.
