I'm on metformin twice a dayTrudy - What medication, if any do you take for your diabetes? That would certainly have a bearing on my response.
I'm not really a fan of sugary, sweet drinks, unless you're on a certain types of medication.
Thank you for the link. It's helped alotHi,
Sorry to hear this. I hate that helpless feeling when your body just does its thing.
Have a look at this link. It has great info for T2s who are ill.

Hope you feel better soon, but don't hesitate to call the docs if you need to.
Thank you for your helpPersonally, I wouldn't be using Lucozade if my bloods ran a little low when ill. I'd try a cup of tea, with milk and see if that helped. It's unlikely, as a T2, on Metformin, that you would have a medically significant dangerously low sugar event (unlike the potential for T1s), and sometimes drinking something like Lucozade can elevate things quite a lot and lead to a bit of a yo-yo effect.
But, it's clearly up to you, what you feel comfortable doing, as it's important not to be frightened, or that potential to just destabilise things further.
Be gentle with yourself.
