First night attached to the pump

I only ever wear tight clothing and rarely have any pockets. I don't care about my pump showing in a vest tshirt or in a sports bra top .

I have a 100mm tube that feeds to the cannula in my bum. I'll try to get some photos tomorrow evening of how I wear mine. Its just out of the way totally. Never catchtubes or have to remember to take it off. I just whip off clothes and straight to bed, no bed wear at all. No probs. Only time I have to remove it is to do a set change or cartridge etc, but I tend to do them in the morning before getting out of bed! Must use the handset to do everything else though.

Yes, if you could post some pics that would be great. I don't mind my pump showing but I'm not keen on it clipped to the outside of my trousers just as it seems very easy to knock it or catch it on something (I tend to bump into things, ha ha). I have tried clipping it on the inside but felt and looked very awkward. Tried it clipped to the outside with a tight fitting top over but it looked like I had a mutant growth.

I was just thinking with sleeves and coats when it's on your arm.

If I am in the birthday suit then it can roam free no problem. I used to clip it to my neck chain but it just annoyed me......

what I will say is that the pump has disconnected while it was roaming free and the next morning was brutal...........I think this was down to my reconnecting after a shower being not up to scratch as the cannula was still in, it was just the tubing had come away....

Its no problem at all with sleeves or coats or jumpers.
Will see if I can take some selfies!!

Going to dye my tubigrip cover to pink, blue and black shades.

Photos show the full length soft wool elbow protector which I then double over and put the clip and pump in to and then cut a bit of tubigrip off to protect it.

My consultant saw the soft wool arm puece today and thought Accuchek had supplied it. Unfortunately not. The tubigrips are given on my prescription though and I het a metre length each month and just cut up to the lengths I want. They wash ok too. Going to dye some now to match my clothes so they look less medical...

Coats, jumpers, anything I've never hada problem with at all.

Brilliant examples to show Newbies on another way of wearing their pump, I've got some tubigrip but I don't think the actual tubing 100cm would reach from bicep to bum (perhaps I've odd bod proportions)

Another thing I've noticed now perhaps this is me my new long Cannulas are shorter than the older tenderlinks I think it's 10cm if I'm correct and this does make a difference .

Just an observation I've always used centre part of stomach (both sides) for my Cannulas for years now but the DSN and accuchek rep said use more round the sides, have been now since 24/4/15 and boy oh boy new Rapids and new sight = lower insulin doses and a few more hypos.
Gradually cutting back on doses, wife goes away soon so I'll be able to complete a night time basal test without disturbing her

Thank you very much for that Donnelly!! I have one of those velcro pouch straps that I have only worn around my leg so far. I have tried it around my arm with the pump inside (prior to being attached) and it seems very convenient, but then I was indoors and wearing with short sleeves, so wondered how well it would work with long-sleeved, tighter-fitting layers. I'll detach and have a little go tomorrow.

I have lycra skin tight tshirts that I normally wear. During the winter I also wear two of them, and 2 hoody tops over them.

Yes, the tubes are slightly shorter than the old combo ones but are plenty long enough and because the tubes are at the bottom coming out sideways they are always perfect. With the old combo pump tube I had to have a small loop in the tube before it came back up my arm.

The benefit of wearing pump like this is that its always down facing. Especially when the combo cartridges had plentiful airbubbles. At night the pump remains downward facing and not flat...

I wore my pump to bed last night for the very first time!

I tried clipping it to my underoos but after one quick roll and crunching feeling i learned its not the best idea for me. The rest of the night i just let it roam free in the bed. At first when i rolled over i would bring it with me, so it was always in front of me (when laying on my side) but that eventually stopped and i realized that when i rolled the tubing was long enough (23in) ti just do its own thing.

I awoke with no issues! I feel much better about wearing this thing at night after one good night... lets hope the next 50 years or so go as smoothly!

Sent photos to Accuchek today to suggest they start thinking of more innovative pump wearing ideas..

This is 1 long sock from poundland (£1) and still got the other sock to use. Just cut off the foot part.

Have now got plain pump holders, stripey and dotty ones!! All co-ordinated with my tshirts.... Cool!!!! Roll on summer!!!
