Nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil vinaigrette on salads, had an interesting situation... went out for a few too many beers. Usually id hypo after alcohol. I decided to have an aero chocolate on my way home as my blood sugar dropped to 4.6 and having the munchies, I bought a sneaky bag of pork scratchings. It was amazing, my blood sugar stayed between 5 and 6 the entire night.
Yesterday my blood sugar was so eratic so I went out and bought another bag of park scratchings. I ate a handfull as I am really careful as to the type of food that I eat. Usually I hardly eat any fat. My blood sugar stabilised immediatedly.
Anyone have any recomendations of good fats that I can incorporate into my diet?
re alcohol, I was in town yesterday and it was freezing . We went into our normal bar for a coffee and they had an advert for vin chaud for 2€. That sounded good, first taste and it was full of sugar. (OH said it really wasn't that sweet but I eat very little sugar so it probably tastes sweeter to me)
Hastily give a bolus with guess at 10g carb but fast insulin was not quick enough to cope with it. My libre shows that BG was just going down nicely from a max 8mmol/l after lunch, about turn and it soared again, followed by a steep drop down to below 4 when the insulin kicked in; not a good choice )
I had Gluvine last night which is I think why I had that massive spike which would not come down!!! Not cool.Yes, this is my first Christmas as a paid-up diabetic and I've just realised that mulled wine is going to be full of sugar. We drive down to a Weinachtsmarkt in N Germany every year, and I'm not going to be able to have any glühwein. Bleaghh!!
.glühwein or mulled wine is not good- as it is heated most of the alcohol evaporates - no good for resolute alocfrolics like myself
You're happy too - I can see from that lovely smile of yours.
I love you guys - all of you. Happy.
Has Max the Moose improved his jokes?I guess it depends on the Gluvine. Mine was from Bournemouth. I love Brum Christmas market
