Yes, my understanding is that 25% of T1s will be eligible. So the only real improvement is that the health authorities that currently aren't funding anyone will have to fund some....

I wonder if anyone in a currently generous area will find that they no longer qualify as a result of the new requirements?

The actual NHS guidelines produced this morning, are looking good for those of us who have been self funding. I was worried we wouldn’t fit in. But I have reduced my HBA1C and some days I tested 8+ times others didn’t. But I can argue that I was only allowed 200 strips a month which would have made testing 8+ every day impossible.

@becca59 could you share a link to these guidelines?
When I had my annual diabetes review two weeks ago, I was told my local CCG did not know what the guidelines would be.

Yeah when I spoke to my CCG at the end of last week they said they still didn't have the guidelines at that point (and to ring back mid March to see if they had anything by then), so I'd be interested to see the link as well and know if said guidelines have been sent to the CCG's yet (my CCG currently provides the libre to no-one)

Suddenly everyone will be testing 8 times a day. Quelle surprise!
I think the key word is "need" in the criteria "People with type 1 diabetes who need intensive monitoring (more than 8 times every day) ..."
In other words, you have to convince your diabetes team there is value in the 8 times a day testing and that you are doing something with the results.
