I have been a lurking member for 5 years and have not seen this discussed. Its about glucose monitors. I am a type 2 and not on insulin so do not have a monitor. I am able to buy on but do not know if I will be able to get the strips. To be honest I do not want to test for the rest of my life but maybe 3 to 6 months to get an idea of how different foods affect me. Is anyone aware of being able to rent them for a period of time? If this has been discussed I have missed the conversation. Thanks in advance for your comments.
I am currently using the Codefree, with TEE2 for backup when I really don't like the reading I get. It is a long time since they have disagreed significantly. In the past I have seen a lot of discrepancies between the two meters, but not now. Perhaps we can hope the strips have become more reliable. I suspect it was a strip problem rather than a meter problem.I used to use the SD Code Free which has the cheapest strips available. However I found it to be becoming less and less reliable.
That’s good to know as I still have my Code Free as a backup meter.I am currently using the Codefree, with TEE2 for backup when I really don't like the reading I get.
