Hi all
When i do my blood sugars, my glucose monitor does not read my blood. However, having tried it out on a daily member and my partner, it reas both of there's no problem.
I'm a bit worried why it's not giving me a reading on myself, any advice would be great.
Thank you x

As of the moment I do not have an answer for you do you have a little extra info is the daily member a type 1 and or your partner?

Are you sure you are putting enough blood on the test strip? (Probably the most common error). What kind of meter are you using and do you get an error message when you test?

Are you following the prompts as to when to put the blood onto the strip, and do you get beeps when the strip has enough blood on it? I have read of people getting similar problems and it was down to putting their blood onto the strip too soon - the delay in passing the meter to another person was long enough for the meter to be ready for the blood, which was perplexing.

Here is a pic of the machine I use. I have been using it for long enough with no problems, I have checked and double checked all you guys have mentioned, I had already been through everything anyway, but no harm in doing again.
Still the same, no error message, blood on Lancet not any different to how iv always done it.
It's just a blank screen, well with all the usual icons on etc, but nothing when I do the test, not even a beep!!
Iv also replaced the batteries, so that wasn't the problem wither.
My concern is, why it's working with the others, who are non-diabetics, but doing nothing for me
Very very strange indeed.
Think I may contact my nurse today and have a chat with her, then maybe get a new machine as clearly this one has taken a dislike to me
Thanks guys, much appreciated

When the others test their blood, do they do it themselves, or do you do it for them?

If they do it themselves, could you ask them to try doing yours for you? That might highlight if there's a glitch in what you do for yourself?

I wonder if any of the little videos on this link might shed any light for you? https://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-glucose/blood-glucose-testing.html
