GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING.

Good Evening and Thank You for the Get Well Wishes to: @13lizanne - @ickihun - @Diamum5972 - @maureen5752 - @debrasue @eldergarth & @tina_marie and @Cumberland My Biopsy Procedure was booked for 2pm and I was admitted to the Day Ward at 7.30am. Said to the nurse that I might not last without food and drink till 3pm. As it happened my procedure was delayed till 3.30pm and the nurse appeared at 8.30am with a big plate of Toast and butter and mugs of coffee for Richard and I which she had made for us and said 'nothing after 9am'. She was a lovely Spanish Girl called Conswela and was allocated to me (she worked a 13 hour shift from 7am till 8pm) but there was only another guy (patient) in the 5 bed ward.(Was hoping for a Male Nurse to attend to me!!!!!!But No) So, I opted for Sedation and had local injection to numb area, they checked my blood sugar at 3.30pm and it was 4.7 and had the Biopsy done, it was not painful - just 'uncomfortable' and I had been written up by the Doctor for Liquid Morphine to have anytime I wanted = but never had any pain relief. Taken back to the Day Ward at 4.30pm and had to lay on my back in Bed for 6 hours, nurse checking my Blood pressure every 15 minutes as it crashed and thought I was going to pass out! Was not allowed out of bed and 3 times needed to wee and each time brought a bottle, and wait for it? Each time managed to wee the bed, wet my pants (pleased I took 4 pairs of Pants with me) wet my surgical gown and hardly any went in the bottle!!!! 3 times was lifted by the nurses to a clean bed. And cleaned myself then At 10pm was allowed to sit in the chair next to the bed for 1 hour, then at 11pm was allowed to go to the toilet and sit down for a wee whilst the nurse stood watching through the open door and could I pee? = No! I was allowed to walk about at midnight. My back was so painful with laying for 6 hours. Doctor came next morning at 10am and said as not in pain and not had any bleeding then I could go home. So rang Richard at 10.15am and waited till the discharge paperwork was done - that took nearly 3 hours!!!
Did not sleep much last night, in and out of bed, as kept rolling over onto my right side and it hurts/sore. Not to lift or carry anything for 7 days. And not to Shower or get dressing wet until I have seen my GP = saw GP this afternoon and he says I can have a Shower tomorrow. Been having strip washes but it is not the same, as I don't feel clean. All I have is some bruising and soreness and having Cat Naps on the sofa watching TV and being fussed over far too much. William x:)

Well, it sounds like a pretty unpleasant experience but I guess it could have been a lot worse. Consuela sounds like a proper peach - you got a good one there!Good for you for not having any pain relief, too - you must be a tough cookie, William!
I know what you mean about not being allowed to use the loo - I have never managed much success with a bedpan and it frequently results in catastrophe. And as for being watched while you "perform" - well, it just wouldn't happen!!!
I'm sure the soreness will improve over the next couple of days, but perhaps you can extend the fussing for a little longer! ;)
It's good to have you back, William.
Big hugs
xxx

@debrasue - I was afraid they would keep me in longer, if I complained of pain. The Nurse said any complications and I will be staying. I had taken a foil of Tramadol with me - just in case for my back.
Found out today from my GP that the Rheumatologist sent him a report and she thinks? I have got Osteoarthritis of the Spine, Hips, Knees, hands, shoulders. As the Steriod injection and the month course of Steriods never eased the pain, so she has ruled out Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis - arrangements being made for me to have Bone Scans now. But, I had a load of Bone X-Rays done several weeks ago!!!! I am baffled? I've waited almost 6 years for a diagnosis. William x

Good to have you back. Will leave Ron to,send his own message but at the moment he can't. Hes had another seizure but this time he cant move his neck even though the seizure is trying to make it move. Hes been like it for over an hour now . Wish whatever it is would do one . You now need to rest up , wishing you A speedy recovery all the best.

@tina_marie - Hi and Thank You. That is terrible - poor Ron. Has he heard anything yet? You must be scared witless at some of these fits? If he should go from one fit into having another one in a short period of time, or from one fit straight into another and then another, I would think about calling for an Ambulance and getting him to hospital. But, I do hope it does not come to that.
We are here for you - Tina and Ron, and if you need a bloody good rant and/or want to curse? Then you can always sent PM's. Big Hugs to You Both. :)

Oh dear - I hope she's not right, because you're very young to have such extensive osteoarthritis, and there's not a lot they can do about it if that's the case... :inpain:
I think bone scans and bone X-rays are different and are intended to show up different things, but I could be wrong... Weren't the X-rays for your knee?
I can just imagine the fight they would have had on their hands if they'd tried to keep you in any longer, LOL!! :joyful:

Oh no!! Poor Ron - you must both be at your wits' end by now. The fact they havent sorted this out for you yet is unbelievable. I hope Ron recovers quickly - give him a big hug from me, and one for you, too. xxx

Thank you , it does get a bit scary at times . No,we haven't heard anything . So tomorrow I'm going to ring GP and get them to ring me back . They fobbed Ron of but it will be me they are dealing with . Getting totally fed up with it all. Last night I went to bed and just as my head hit the pillow he went into a seizure it was like watching an episode from the walking dead.

You are brave William. No pain relief to boot. It must have been a worrying experience. I'm glad you're back in the fold.
R is brilliant, bless him.
9yr old had his friend over for tea today she was so quiet and very polite. They watched and played on the playstation Mindcraft game. The kids are obsessed with it. 3yr old tried to terrorize her but she didn't flicker. Go girl! 3yr old gave up and started behaving himself. She's a natural. She helps train the dogs at the kennels. ha ha

@tina_marie what meds is he on for the seisures?

And @ickihun - I cannot forget You, Vicky are another Lovely Person with a Nurturing Personality always thinking, worrying about me. But, we have to get you sorted now. Have you thought about using Heat Pads? They only cost a £1.00 for 2 pads and can last for up to 8 hours. I use them a lot, because heat brings out the pain with me. You can buy them from Home Bargains, Poundworld, Poundland etc. You could also ask your GP if he would consider referring you for Physiotherapy?
How are you finding your blood sugars since having the pain? Are they up or down?
William xx

@Liam1955

I hope that recuperation is swift for you blimey what an ordeal let's hope the worst is behind you

I think they're up but not sure as I've reduced my insulin after having to increase it over the holiday period. (Sandwiches only).
I'm back to just one 60unit injection but afternoon/evening reading is higher as metformin doesn't make a huge difference.
Little one starts nursery on monday and I'm out all day and tuesday should be busy too. I'll rest wednesday morning/housework after picking him at 11.30am.
Wednesdays I'll be up and down to school 6 trips. So plenty of walking. We have agreed to share school runs so we're both kept fit. Walking with crutch supports that side of my body. I don't think a stick will do that. I have my eye on a support belt too. Very similiar to a bodybuilders belt.
If I didn't have pain I'd say I'd had a stroke as my right side is very weak. Although I don't do much with my left side either, other than walking and holding things to support my right side. I'm hugely weaker than I used to be. I used to be very robust.
I bought 2 new backpacks on tuesday. My pink handbag is heavy and so ive aborted it for now. I'm feeling more upright and supported when walking.
I'm still in pain walking even on naproxen and co-codamol. Should I still have pain?
I've only ever took painkillers for sciatica, once. Even childbirth didn't last this long. I dread to think the pain without those 2 drugs.
I'll give it another week and if no pain reduction I'll go back to gp for advice. He just diagnosed sacroiliitis, it's me whose wondering if arthritis. He didn't speculate, which if I had his job I wouldnt either. Ha ha
How are you this morning/afternoon @Liam1955 ?
How is @eddie1968 after his consultation?
How is the lovely @tina_marie and @eldergarth ?
Hope everyone else are not too bad? ♡♥♡

Gabapentin, but it was originally given for his twitching of the leg and foot. Oh and those heat pads are brill. Used them on my shoulder.
Yes. I think that drug is for nerve problems and epilepsy. Obviously not making any improvement to seizures. Did seizures start from the begining or has his condition progressed to seizures?
I hope gabapentin is not causing seizures because wrong drug for Ron? Does Ron get any benefit from Gabapentin? Which type of consultant prescribed it again?

Seizures started day after MRI scan. Neurologist prescribed it before he had scan. It wasn't given to Ron until 3days after scan.

I hope your gp call get neurologist to advise him. Not sure if it works like that thou. GP might chase up an other appointment to get drug revised.
I saw on a GP tv programme that GP can call an neurologist/specialist for advice to keep patient right. Not sure if that is common practice thou!
Don't leave gps without some address hun. I know Ron doesn't like a fuss but he cannot go on like this, for much longer. (Hugs galore).
