GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING.

@tina_marie great news on weight loss Gongratulations. How did you do it what was your daily meal plan pls if you don't mind me asking? I've gained since Xmas cos of few things needs to get it of, stressed at pressent which doesn't help. Again congratulations great news
All I've done is cut out all the rubbish I use to eat . Restrict myself to two slices of wholemeal bread a day. Bread was my biggest down fall. Crusty rolls , working in a supermarket and first thing you smelt in the morning was the fresh bread. If I want pop I've switched to sugar free. Cut down on chocolates . Had a piece tonight and didn't really enjoy it . Ron told me that my taste buds will change . Haven't eaten cakes in a long while . I look at them but not interested. Tonight though I've been naughty . Chinese, but I'm suffering for it . My poor feet. Heels and ankles are painful .For breakfast I usually have belvita biscuits.

She just cut back on the carbs Maureen plus pushing me around in my wheelchair helps
@eldergarth great achievement, I've got a wheelchair but I can't push myself, I want to loose some weight but can't shift it, been under stress so that doesn't help, still I'll keep trying & again congratulations. Hope your well yourself

@tina_marie you've done very well must be pleased with your self, give yourself a pat on the back, bread is one slice occasionally, no pasta, no potatoes, no rice, but I've not been very mobile recently so that's probably why I've gained, plus couple mince pies & sausage rolls Xmas, also little 85% chocolate, anyway good luck you've done very well

Totally agree my hubby has joined me on the diet and he's now seeing the benefits his BG 8.45 am 5.6. We've done our 1 hour walk with dogs and we're all reaping the benefits. So keep going your doing fine .K

And Liam hope things improve for you soon, been there with herniated disc many years ago, still get flare ups from time to time like yesterday after being on my feet all day,but a nights rest and I'm ok.
I started using a chiropractor ⚕️ locally and he achieved better results than physio. Perhaps you could give it a try. Don't be tempted to go for the bone fusion operation a friend had it done a long time ago and never worked again in and out a wheelchair now on crutches.so beware K

It takes real effort for people to commit to a lifetime of Changes to there diet and way of life changes,so I really hold my hands up to all who are achieving this So Well Done To All of You !!!! K

I did actually start lchf last Easter right up until September and then things just got on top of me . Went back to my old habits and weight went back on. Now back on lchf and feel much better for it . I know there are drs and medical professionals alike who just tell you to stuff your faces with carbs but as I see it it's not down to them but up to you what you do . You have to find a way of what works for you. If it's working why change ? Even if you have to do some tweaking , that's why I think that it's even more important that people test. I know that there are those who aren't given meters but you can get your own . A friend of mine who I worked with was put on gliclazide but never given a meter and he didn't realise he had to test before driving . I told him it was a legal requirement. His gp told him if he wanted to test he was to come into the surgery and they would do it. This is one of the reasons I no longer trust our NHS.

Tina_marie I am at the same place you are
,I've been given 3 months to get things under control BG cholesterol BP like you I did this diet over a year ago came off it in May last year put the weight back on,so got my head back on has I will not be bullied into popping pills when I can control things by diet. And for last 17 years what have the NHS done for diabetics pump them full of carbs resulting in more blood glucose, more pills more health problems, well not with me anymore ill do it my way,by following this new healthy way of eating.Like you said within a short time I had more energy no fogged up brain ( some would not agree) ha ! and feel so much better with relatively steady BG.within range anyway. My life if you can call it that on NHS diet was loads more body fat painful joints no energy depression and sitting on my proverbial a---e ,cannot go back to that. Keep going your doing great my weight loss is slow but my body fat I'm losing really well, never been able to get rid of weight quickly but I'm not worrying about scales its diabetes control first and weight loss is a bonus. Looking forward to meeting you and Ron in March.lol K

Well, I managed to get pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and ended up in hospital, but I think I'm on the mend now. Still huffing and puffing, but they told me it would take a while... Other than that I'm doing OK.
Good luck on Thursday, honey - let us know how you get on xxx
