Good Morning

Good morning from dull Dumbarton, cool and grey clouds. Summer has been a bummer so far and thinking of Tenerife in September :)

Good morning guys, a bit dull here and waiting for the 9am weather forecast.
I wish you all a super Saturday and take care out there :)

Good morning from a cool but sunny Central Scotland - a typical Scottish summers day! Just off for our walk, I hope that everyone has a healthy, happy day today
Love the new avatar, Anna - AH is just sooooo gorgeous!!!
(I liked the pretty blue flowers yesterday, too!)
:)

Morning everyone, it's a nice bright start to the day. DS is pleased about the weather, he's off to Birmingham today to meet some friends. Hope everyone has a good day today whatever the weather!

Good morning, peeps!
I hope everyone is well today - and that those who are not feeling on top form will start to feel better soon. I'm delighted to report that sciatica - as @ickihun so eloquently put it yesterday - has "done one" for today at least, so I'm just going to enjoy that to the max!
It's a nice, bright sunny morning here in South Glos, although I have to work all day today, sadly. (I might find a little time to skive off and enjoy a bit of sunshine later, though, if it hangs around!)
And - speaking of work - I suppose I'd better crack on with some, instead of f*rting around here on the forums, enjoying myself!
Big hugs, peeps!

Hope you're not sore. Have you got painkillers ? :)

Yes - thanks for asking - but they're pretty heavy-duty ones so I don't take them unless I really, really need to.
I take a daily anti-inflammatory as a matter of course, I don't much like taking paracetamol because of its role in liver toxicity, I can't tolerate aspirin, codeine has a terrible effect on my internal 'workings' and tramadol makes me itch like crazy!
So I'm very careful not to overdo the oxycodone; for obvious reasons, but also because it's about the only painkiller I can rely on nowadays.
But - fingers crossed - it hasn't been as bad this time as it has in the past, and today it's not bothering me at all, so I haven't needed to take anything and I'm feeling chirpy!

I've had Oxycodone before (Oxynorm Instant Release 10/20mg tabs) after various operations and they are very effective. Most people get OxyContin (the slow release version compared to the stronger instant release). They are potentially addictive and take the minimum and try not to take them every day. In the USA Oxycodone's nickname is "Hillybilly Heroin" and is a major drug of abuse there. I agree, Tramadol makes me itch and I'm not allowed them now due to dangerous interaction with another med I'm on. :)

30/7/16 - Good Morning from a Sunny York. Hope Everybody is good and enjoy the day:). Had "restless legs" during the night and broken sleep, think it was all the walking done yesterday! Will probably sleep better tonight. Today only taking 10mg Prednisolone (Steriod's) for next 7 days and then to 5mg a day for 7 days. No effect whatsoever on Arthritic Pain, but at least I have given it a go.
Have you tried a TENS machine @liam1955 ? I use mine a lot to minimize opioid painkillers. Due to my stomach issues NSAID's and Aspirin are a no no and have few options painkiller wise. :)

Yes, it's the OxyNorm that I take if I really need them, and I was prescribed them following various operations, too. I also have OxyContin, but I haven't taken them for years - I prefer the control I can achieve with the faster-acting/shorter-lasting version. I think both are potentially addictive, though, due to the 'high' you get from the morphine derivative.
Yes Oxynorm is better than OxyContin - totally agree. I never ever had euphoria or "highs" due to the severe pain I suffered from. I also have been on MST Continus 30mg for severe intractable post-operative pain for months. :) You and me could have a "Smartie Party" lmao :hilarious:

Yes @eddie1968 I've got a TENS Machine, but it has no effect anymore. I have only got this week and next week on the Prednisolone and 1 week without anything and then I see the Rheumatologist on the 19th August. But, have got Tramadol and Pregabalin in stock ready to take if needed - and I probably will be taking them --soon!!
