Just had my blood test results, 2 and a half months after diagnosis, dropped from 55 to 42 and lost 19 kilos, purely on reduced carbs and exercise. Doctor and Diabetes nurse absolutely chuffed to bits and DN doing lots of research on low carbs to advise others. Thank you all for advice and support

You usually go into starvation mode when you are actually, literally, starving. As in, not getting sufficient calories. With low carb/high fat you get plenty of those, you just cut carbs. The fats you add into your diet make sure you don't end up in starvation mode, or anywhere near Scurvy and the like.19kgs in 2.5months, awesome. Its like almost 250-300gms per day
What was your weight when you started.
I am more worried about, if this will give a shock to body as such a rapid loss, will make body go into starvation mode, which would mean liver hard to convert available energy to store as fat.
None the less do share your diet plan to understand what triggered such a fast loss.
