If you could toss a few more numbers out there, that'd be helpful. The aim is not to get a rise of more than 2.0 mmol/l between before a meal and 2 hours after the first bite. If you're seeing higher numbers/discrepancies, you might want to re-evaluate the food. What's a usual day look like, food-wise? Maybe we can help you tweak things?Hi there,
I am new diabetic, I was diagnosed in October / November. I am type 2.
I have done a low carb diet since finding out, I have lost 2.5 stone or 16 kg so far.
I bought a kit to check my glucose and it seems to be normal apart from after I have eaten.
I know it is a 12 week range, but if your normal for say 9 - 10 weeks, but really high at the start will the high still be shown?
I'm still not sure where the 2mmol/l rise comes from? I haunt found it any where else but on these forums? There was a thread a while ago trying to get to the bottom of it but i don't think any one came up with a reason? If you could toss a few more numbers out there, that'd be helpful. Anyway, welcome!

From the figures you quote it is most likely that at the worst your next HbA1C will show you to be in the pre-diabetic range, or possibly even in the normal range - so keep it up and there is no need to be concerned.cheers guys, the number usual when waking it between 4.5 and 6.0, after a meal can between 6.5 and 8.0, before bed 4.5 and 6.0. Some morning I can have a higher blood sugar level. Like the morning it was 7.8. But my morning walk usually lower it back below 6.
I am asking because of this I am the type of person, when I put my mind to something I cant let go. My goal now is to try and reverse and maintain it as soon as possible.
