Has the Libre improved your control?

It drastically improved my control, it dropped my normal HbA1c of 55-70 down to less than 50 pretty quickly where it has stayed since, I found it was the continuous data stream that meant I could do that because I could see what was actually going on (I'm a very data driven person anyways)
 
Yes, very helpful to me.
While it's not perfectly accurate, it allows me to safely sit at lower numbers without fear of going low, as I can check and see if I'm dropping or rising every 10 minutes if I want to.
 
Libre has definitely helped my control because I am always aware of my BG and able to tweak my insulin dose when I see the values going high and stop a hypo before it happens when I see my values dropping low.

It allowed me to see what is happening between finger pricks so I know whether to tae my insulin earlier or lower and now understand the highs in the morning are due to DP rather than too little basal.

To be honest, the biggest win came for me when I added a MiaoMiao and converted the Libre to.a CGM to so don't have to keep scanning.

Yeah, I've gained a considerable amount of understanding & also confirmed other grey spots regarding my BG managment.

Yes, you won't look back.
Things to note:
When you load new sensor, scan first with libre and then your smart phone as the smart phone app gives you more information graphs etc .
Both scanner and phone can be used together and sync to your records but personally I use phone.

Ps if you've been given libre 2 (latest) I haven't yet, only it has both High and low warning that can be set... brilliant

My results have improved dramatically

This Freestyle libre has changed my outlook to BG to a different level, my specialist discovered I was developing ulcers on my fingers when lancets were used as a temporary measure she arranged Freestyle Libre and I would say it is a fantastic way to control the BG I don't think I will look back, this is the way forward.
 
Yes, definitely. My issue was not that I was going high but constantly going low quite quickly, not necessarily hypo low but it showed me that I drop quite quickly when in the 4s so I act before it hits the 3s. By seeing the direction of the arrows as often as I want means I can head one off more quickly. It's data helps you to adjust your insulin too. I don't think I could go back to just finger pricks, it makes you realise how useless that actually is really, a one off finger prick test roughly every 4 hours tells you nothing.
 
A resounding yes for me my Hb1ac was nearly always in the 90s now in the low 50s , the job I was in didn’t help in the taking of blood sugars ( heavy industry long very busy shifts) so it didn’t happen as much as it should have or even at all . Such bad control for so many years does have a knock on effect, for me it was heart attack , and loss of leg .sounds terrible but I’m still here , since I’ve been using the libre control is a million % better and the risk of complications.vastly reduced , yes you hear it’s not as accurate as actual blood tests but it definitely helped me , it’ll never be accurate to control your blood sugar to the 0.5 of a mm /mol but hey if your wanting that tight a control your doing nothing else but taking your blood sugar ! Sorry but I need to live also
 
I haven't had an HBA1C since starting the libre last year, but the data from the libre suggests my control is better and it has definitely made me more aware of how different things impact my control.
 
It's improved mine slightly. The main thing is being able to see the patterns and act on them.

My hba1c has hovered between 48 and 52 for around 3.5 years now. Currently I'm at 50.

It's doesn't look like it's made much difference going off my hba1c, but during that time my honeymoon period has ended and I'm taking more insulin now. I've upped my Lantus from 4 units to 8 and I think im going to have to do it again. When I'm at work I don't need as much insulin and the Libre has been a godsend as I have been able to stop the hypos.
 
Looking back through the answers, I am wondering what we mean by "better control".
The measurement has always been HbA1C but I am pretty sure I managed to average around 48 through enough lows to cancel out the highs. To me, that is not really control but one good number out of thousands over the 3 months.
My graphs are now flatter than they were when I started Libring but my Hb1AC has not changed much.
 
Did it improve my control possibly my hb1c was 6.1 to 6.5 before libre now it's at 6.9 to 7.3 with the libre but that could be that I do not have so many lows, I should have changed from the libre to enlite sensers but I had a bad cold so I had to cancel my training day and have rebooked for the 7 th April, after that I have to have my cataracts done so roll on summer, no need for glasses after that so it will be one thing I cannot lose or leave on the tram

My HbA1c used to hover around 50 before Libre which my consultant thought was excellent control but obviously it was an average of lots of highs and lows which no one seemed to consider. Now I am around 43 with a much flatter pattern. One important thing to remember is to do a blood test before any correction for high or low!
 
I am thinking of getting a Libre but as a "Type 2", I would have to fund it myself. Can I save money by buying the sensor and just using my phone to retrieve the information?
 
I was given one free when I visited the hospital consultant about 2 years ago and YES it's done the job perfectly as my Hbac1 has gone below 50 for the last two blood test.I had my meter go faulty and Abbott changed the reader within 2 days Great service
 
I have been using the new Libre 2 for several weeks now.

I can safely say that the LOW alert audible warnings have prevented a significant number of HYPOs. As a result, I have had for fewer HIGHs because once I go below 3.0 MMOL I rebound to above 10MMOL.

I only get slight warnings and these are easily missed or fleeting but the Libre 2 even wakes me at night to alert me.

The new Version 2 is a giant leap forward especially for Type 1s. I expect my HBA1C to improve significantly. I am currently achieving 69% Time In Target which my Diabetic Nurse says is wonderful.

I did have to request the upgrade to the Libre 2 from my GP. I recommend all T1s to go for it.

If I can maintain this pattern, it may improve my warning signs long term.
