High BG swings: Type1.

Hi there. How do folk manage their high BG readings after a hypo? I woke on 3.4 and have been in the high teens all afternoon. I've been told not correct these highs as it will cause a low swing but it's driving me mad and I feel worn out with it. Any thoughts?

Did you have 15g of quick acting carbs? Or more?

Just 15g. Then had breakfast. Did a correction dose with dinner last night. Also have pmt which may have compounded the issue. I want to know if others correct high swings or not as it feels wrong to not to.

Hi. I tend to correct only if the sugar is in the teens.

Do you count carbs? Is it possible you miscalculated your breakfast and didn't take enough insulin for it?

And yes, I correct highs but with a slightly smaller dose to avoid going low again.
