I agree with hale, the numbers are consistent so I wouldn't change it. If you've not been recommended it already, buy a copy of Gary Scheiner's Think Like a Pancreas. Every question (and more) that you could possibly ever have about insulin is in there, including basal dosing.
Gary says, that if before bed and before breakfast readings differ by more than 1.6 mmol/l, then adjust your basal by 10% accordingly.
And don't stress too much, as a general rule of thumb, aim not to go hypo and not go into double figures. Waking up at 8 mmol/l means you're doing well, in my opinion.
