I;d like to send a PM, but can't find out how to do it! I have seen an old thread that says click on the white flag in the top right hand corner, but that just gives me conversations. I am on the forum on a PC. Can anyone help please?

Click on the envelope symbol, there you will find Conversations.

This is a really good point, actually. Would anyone agree that it's worth replacing 'conversations' with 'private messages' for the purpose of clarity?

Most definitely, it does cause some confusion.

I didn't realise that conversation meant private messages, I thought it was more like instant messages.

So for me, I would prefer it called private messages.

Definitely I cant think why it was changed in the first place its just confusing.

And while your changing stuff there is something else that needs sorting out that I reported after the forum changes were originally made and you dismissed it but its still happening time and time again.

When a long post is quoted with a reply the reply is not posted, it is somehow lost!. You can see this on many threads where you see a quote posted with no reply and you think that they forgot to answer but its not that it cuts off the reply.

I think you brushed it off last time I reported it saying that you had to expand the quote to see the post but it makes no difference when quoting a "long post", it must have been set up to only accept so many characters or something so it posts the quote but cuts off your reply, its very annoying.

So there are no 'private' private messages? Conversations can be seen by anyone who looks on a profile

No @rowan, profiles can be seen by others if they click on your profile and profile messages are also seen on Facebook and!! Private messaging should only seen by the recipients, unless a message gets reported. Under the heading 'Recent posts' you can click on to that ( it comes up red) and you will see other members profile posts, if you so wish :wideyed:

Best wishes RRB
