why can't everyone get on........
started the day on an excellent 6.3 at 7am ... downhill after that

10.5 by 10:30 and I hadn't eaten or drank anything ( alcoholic ) ( on a pump too and normally stay quite steady )

12.1 after a glass of fizz ( 11:50am)

by sitting down to dinner at 3pm was back down to 8.9 and have stayed in the 6's the rest of the day till now at 6.1

so thinking the excitement and stress of the day pushed me up ----------- no other explanation

Started at 4.9 highest just now 6.4, lowest 4.1. Have to own up though and say I don't celebrate Christmas so just a normal day.

Not bad, stated off at 9.4 just after midnight but the rest of the day range between 4.3 and 7.7, average 6.2

Despite that, had 2 hours sleep last night and a nice stiff drink or 6 lol. No random blood sugars, but not had any sweet desserts today.

woke with a 2.9 :( spoiled my day a little but managed to pull it back, last test was 6.0 after Christmas dinner wine, champagne and dessert :)

on the Red now and just tested at 5.6

I was low this morning (2.3) and have been feeling tired and grumpy all day! Hoping to level out by the evening so I can enjoy a family dinner!

Disaster here. I change the cartridge this morning and forgot to fill the tubing. High all day until I realised what I did which was about 5pm. Not a good day at all! Hopefully will be better tomorrow

First Christmas Day on a pump so was a little apprehensive about getting the bolus doses right, lowest yesterday was 3.6 and highest was 9, average for the day was 6.1 so not bad at all.

The 3.6 was due to being a little more active than anticipated, had a slice of toast on waking to stop the liver dump but should have reduced the bolus dose but dipped to 3.6 mid-morning, used a dual-wave bolus for Christmas Dinner and again on the night for the cheese and biscuits which seemed to work a treat :)

Oh what a nightmare!! We've all done it but what a pain of a day to do it on! Hope you are feeling ok! X

@ himtoo Paul I shall take your 10.5 and I will raise you a 11.2 it was last thing before bed, had been pretty decent numbers most of the day so I'm blaming the fact I was an emotional wreck at Downton that sent me high, I hadn't eaten anything to put me up to that kind of number!

Apart from that I had 4's & 5's all day which I was very pleased with

Hope everyone had a lovely day xx

If my day had contained alcohol I believe my numbers would have been very different

Pre meal breakfast was fine, post meal was a bit higher than normal so did a small correction
Pre meal lunch was fine, activated a tbr of 140% 1hr before lunch and had a lovely gluten free DIY chocolate digestive biscuit, fresh fruit and sugar free jelly to build up the layers with the biscuits soaking up the liquid with the top being custard and fresh cream.....didn't calculate the carb correctly for the pudding and 2hrs later was up to 11.5mmol so just waited for the IOB and tbr to get back to normal again 5hrs later.
Pre meal evening was fine, post meal ok.

Not sure what todays nosh will reveal?

Hmm not good, by last night I'd got up to 24.6, back down to 6.4 again this morning thou.

Started high at 13.9 as had dinner and drinks at friends house, came down to 10.9 3 hours later, had late breakfast and a correction then dipped to 3 whilst cooking the lunch, by 5pm i'd hit 15, tried correcting but wasn't coming down, woke today at 14.4, had tiny breakfast and again a huge correction. (Glands have been hurting also and came on yesterday, great lol !!)

It's like being on a roller coaster !! :oldman:

Happy Christmas all - looking forward to normality and a pump in Jan :)

I was pretty happy with mine considering that I ate well and had all the usual treats.

Started the day with a 5.8. After a big Christmas Lunch I was 6.5 and stayed around 6.0 all afternoon. My lowest was 3.3 which was due to over-estimating the carbs in a very rich chocolate Yule Log. Went to bed at 5.7.

Interesting experience for me yesterday.. (Basically. I was a fool.) :oops:o_O
Woke up about 5am in the high teens suspecting a had forgot my basal th night before.. (Was staying in a hotel.)
Soooo, thought basal. But only 3/4s my normal dose. Went to record my level & dose on my iPad & noticed I had indeed done it before retiring to bed.. :banghead:
About 9am I was still high. So corrected with bolus allowing for the protein in a low carb bacon & egg fry up..
I kept testing all morning & by midday was respectable..
By the time I got to my sisters place up the road I was still ok. But at 2pm (dish up time.) I was in the 3s. I decided to eat without bolusing & found myself chasing the tail of a mild hypo all afternoon as I participated in the festive feasting. My sister doesn't understand I low C so I picked through a massive plate. Leaving the "usual suspects" & skipping (as I always do.) the pudding... Feeling bloated by late afternoon I came away from it at 7.2..

I evened out nicely turning down the offer of more food by 8oclock,

Like I said I was a fool.. ;) Normal services resumed today..

Edit to add, no alcohol was consumed at all yesterday.. I was still a nupty though.

Was my first Xmas with diabetes and it was a roller coaster!

Work up with 6.9 which was good for my morning number, one kids was sick and all the festivities I ended up going down to 3.1.

Got that back into normal range and then after lunch and cleaning and stuff dropped down to 1.9.

Treat and move on, check a few hours later and up to 15.3... Wash hands and retest at 16.9. Correct and dose for meal. At 2 hrs beck down below 10.

Before bed back down to 6.2.

Normally I don't spike and bottom out so much. Thinking it was activity and excitement and food.

For boxing day my bs ranged from 4.2 to 7.4 taking 16 tests today every hour, finished off the evening with a vodka and orange then a double jack daniels & diet coke :) Sorting out my lantus worked a treat into an evening and morning dose, think I iradicated those morning highs now.

Back to normal tomorrow of 5 to 7 tests.

Yer doing well.! Lol, from my experience the voddy & JD may have kept the liver too buisy with the alcohol to do any glycogen dumping in the night.? :D
