It's high in fat to compensate for being low in carb. You need your energy to come from somewhere. How high is high fat it is however high you want it to be there are no rules about it. When I joined the forum a while ago now the talk here was all about high fat and people were eating lots of full fat dairy as in cream butter milk yogurt and lots of saturated fat in red meats. A few random people.. who the majority of folk have never heard of... had said in the media that fat is good for us but it has not been sanctioned yet and may never be by the medical profession so it has never really taken off. I actually believe people prefer foods that are moderate to low in fat and they eat it from choice they do not eat as much red meat anymore but eat a lot more chicken and fish.
Does it matter?
Well, considering how many people on here have spent a great deal of time trying to help you, and support you in your quest for both answers and a suitable way of managing how you are feeling, I think that yes, it does matter.Does it matter?
I disagree that eating full fat has not taken off on here. I also object to the people who have done studies and made videos and read book being referred to as a few random people.. who the majority of folk have never heard of...How high is high fat it is however high you want it to be there are no rules about it. If only for the sake of manners to myself and fellow posters. We wouldnt have bothered if we didnt care. Also the information may well help someone else who post on here with similar symptoms and questions and searches the forum for advice.

I too need fat with meals if the protein is lean. Mayo and avocado work well. Chicken thighs are way better than breasts but I don't eat the skin. Cheese or nuts would work too. Olive oil is like water and does absolutely nothing to stop any spike. Lamb is my prefered red!! Love it.But you had lots of anecdotal evidence from forum members that this wasn't true..chicken (at least lean breast) causes my blood sugar to go up a bit whereas fatty thighs don't.. I prefer steak anyway. And just had my eggs with butter and cheese tea.
Could you send me the skin please... I'll pay the postage..!I too need fat with meals if the protein is lean. Mayo and avocado work well. I have changed my diet, what are you referring to?Thank you for posting that !!
@ghost_whistler , We have offered so many different ways to try to change your diet, switch macros or meals , offer sympathy etc . It seems if you're not going to take the time to ask frommedical tests and possible dietary changes then you're really not looking for answers, from anybody.

Because this isn't really the thread for this conversation.. If I want to discuss the appointment then respectfully allow me to do so my way.Did you ask?
You were so enthusiastic about getting that specialist appointment but it seems you got little from it. You've described a variety of symptoms here so I'd have hoped you got a more thorough answer from the specialist.
Why are you so cagey and monosyllabic about him? If he wasn't helpful or was unprofessional n some way then you could ask to see someone else.
What information? The appointment consisted of the dr looking at my history and making a diagnosis. I can't go back in time and tell him how to do his job. I told him that i was managing my diet differently and changing diet is the only advice you will get from a doctor.

Exactly what I said yes people did eat a lot of fat back in the day but I do not think the generations today or in the future will ever eat that amount of saturated fat againNever really taken off????Eating full fat used to be the norm prior to the 1970s/80s
I still stand by what I said I do not think the general public would have heard of those few people who said fat is good.I disagree that eating full fat has not taken off on here. I also object to the people who have done studies and made videos and read book being referred to as a few random people.. who the majority of folk have never heard of...
Also this may be true of some "I actually believe people prefer foods that are moderate to low in fat" but not all and not the majority.
