are they sure you are a type 2 diabetic?7 months from diagnosis to be on basal (probs needed it by 4-5 months but referrals take time) and 9 months to bolus being added
I bought up testing DSN and she was like "I will bring it up with consultant, still hasn't"are they sure you are a type 2 diabetic?

Tempted to just go private if I can find a spare few hundred quid stuffed down the side of the sofa.
Unfortunately I check the T2 box with age and being overweight. Don't have t1 family history but do have autoimmune in the family (MS).
How did they confirm it was type 2 not some other version? Late 30‘s is certainly possible for type 2 but less common. Did they test you for antibodies and cpeptide? Why did they never try any other treatment?I've been on insulin from the first day I was diagnosed and that's been 4 years. Apart from a brief time I was off it completely.
I was 38 when I was first diagnosed. I was rushed into hospital with DKA because my sugars were dangerously high and they did do an antibody test and confirmed it was type 2 but im not convinced im type 2, never have been.Ps: I was tried on a medication and I took an allergic reaction to it so I went on Metformin and have been on it ever since and also Lantus. How did they confirm it was type 2 not some other version? They did tell you a negative antibody test (and there are lots of them not just one) isn’t absolute for dismissing type 1 didn’t they? Did they not do a c peptide to see what your insulin production is like? You could ask for one now. If you are in fact you are type 1 that would give you nhs access to tech that a type 2 doesn’t have (cgm, pumps etc) and a consultant I believe.I was 38 when I was first diagnosed.
