How should i be reviewed?

Hi Friends

i was dx last may 3rd, i had a feet test where they brush a little thing under your feet for sensation...my last suagr test was last november!! now my question is....should i get a letter from my GP asking me to going in for these tests? thank you xxx

You should be invited in yes, but they do vary by surgery. Guidelines suggest we should have blood tests 3 to 6 months apart according to how well controlled we are, but my surgery says once a year is fine as I'm well controlled. Suits me as I test myself anyway, and my doctor lets me have an HbA1c pretty much whenever I want within reason if i ask. If you don't test, or if you are newly diagnosed, i'd remind them and ask for an HbA1c so you can see how you're getting on. Suggest you have the normal review at the same time, so cholesterol, weight, Bp, foot tickling etc.
