Hi all
Was told by my gp i have it. Not the end of the world yet but i have burning questions. I did get told no sweet no coke until 3 month review is up, but i cant help the odd weekly coke zero. Will it get worse? Seeing nurse this week will try and get my questions answered.
How about sugar free jelly and cream, Greek yoghurt with berries, dark chocolate? There’s ann ice cream brand called Oppo which has less carbs than standard ice cream. Also try Googling Low Carb followed by a dessert you like.Which desserts may i have or redeem? lol
Hi and welcome. Did they tell you what your HbA1c result was? that's the usual way in which T2 is diagnosed these days.Hi all

I have previously made my own low carb ice cream but I’ve recently found judes’s ice cream (in Sainsbury’s and elsewhere). The vanilla is my favourite and the lowest carb bought ice cream I’ve come across and it’s also the best ice cream I can remember having as a bonus and no more expensive than other branded icecream . The only downside is trying to not have too much. They did have a sale on little cinema style pots recently making them cheaper than the larger tubs and great for portion control. There’s ann ice cream brand called Oppo which has less carbs than standard ice cream

Well, "not allowed" isn't quite true. No-one here is going to slap you silly for eating carby foods, and yes, the special K, bread, spuds and sweet corn are... Very, very carby. The thing is, you decide how you deal with your diabetes. Diet is one way to do it, but then you do need to add in more fats and protein, because you can't live off of salads and expect to be able to function or stay healthy. You need nutrients from somewhere, and fats and protein'd be the way to go. Like the eggs and cheese... Maybe leave off the bread and add in some bacon, one or two more eggs, more cheese, to make it more filling? No idea what's in the nuke-able veg pack, but yeah... If you want to go the diet route, start figuring out what suits your blood sugars and what doesn't, and don't try to get it all right overnight, there's no need to.Yday eating was
Salad cucumber lettuce tomatoe sandwhiches
special k
blueberries
2 potatoes one sweetcorn
Before this id have sodas and cokes...
I know Im not allowed maybe bread and potatoes..

I’m not seeing much protein or healthy unprocessed fats in this, which probably means you’ll get very hungry. They are both essential for life, health and feeling full. The goal isn’t to starve or be hungry. It’s to give your body the nutrition it needs and limit the stuff that’s unhelpful. Is there a reason why you’re choosing these sort of menus?Off to gym in a bit
Todays diet will be
3 eggs omlette cheese 4 slices of white bread
Blueberries
Pack of vegatables i can microwave and eat
Water
Thats it.
Looking at the food you're eating on the two days - I'd be feeling really under-nourished on that. The bulk of your intake seems to be carb-based - bread, special k, potatoes, sweetcorn - and blueberries are fairly high in fructose too. Hard to say exactly how much carb, as that depends on portion sizes.Off to gym in a bit
