what do a diabetic ulcer look like.
I have 2 small sores on the top my foot have been there for about a month and are getting worse. they nearly look like have I bitten or somthing but they are very red and had a dot in the centre, I just wondered if anybody could describe what one looks like.
the skin on feet is very thin and breaks easily dont know if this is anything to do with raynauds disease I have.
dont want to bother my doctor just yet as he is not the most helpful and dont want to be wasting his time unnecessarily.

Hi Louiseb, I have no idea what a diabetic ulcer looks like but I do know how serious they can become and what they can lead to if left untreated, if I were you I would see my doctor immediately and have these looked at.

I'm sure no doctor would think you are wasting his/her time.

louiseb,

As you have now had this for 1 month and the sores are getting worse, it is time to see your gp asap, as untreated conditions like these in people with diabetes can lead to more serious conditions.

Go to the doctor!

You won't be wasting his time unnecessarily. Asking for antibiotics when you have a cold is wasting their time. Seeing the doc about a genuine medical problem is what he's there for. Diabetic foot problems can get very bad very quickly, please make an appointment asap. Even if turns out to be nothing serious, you won't be wasting the doctor's time. Better safe than sorry and all that...
