Cashew nuts are my friends. They are my french fries, my bag of crisps, my dinner and sometimes my food groups. They follow a boiled egg at breakfast time, cover a vinegar-drenched salad at lunch and, served with chili and coriander, accompany my beer at night.
They are my friends.
I don't know what they cost in the UK but here I pay between 6 and 8 pounds a kilo depending on the source and can go through a kilo in a week, easily.
Fried until a toasty golden brown in a little olive oil with a light dusting of roughly grated sea salt they are proper food. Real food. Friendly food.
