Hello every one
Just wanted to introduce myself.
I've been reading all the info here for the past 6 months and wanted to say thank you!!!!! It has saved my life.
I was officially diagnosed in November given Glilizde and metforim with a 10.9 A1C but have been struggling with POCS and all the "joys" it comes with for over ten years.

I always had a pretty "good diet" with a lot of vegetables and whole grains. and but nothing was working. Not even a year of high intensity work outs. My weight increased to 280 lbs and I was seriously considering lap band surgery this January. I knew I was too young to feel this old. With my whole body aching and depression, something needed to change.
I stopped with the glizide with my doctor agreeing to it for three months. I understood that with POCS, I was insulin resistant and that was not right for me.
So I went on a low carb higher fat way of living in March, having been encouraged by the suscess stories here. With my glucose meter in hand after every meal! I believe this was a key to my success.

Also since May I have started interment fasting three to four days a week. Eating supper then having my first meal at 1pm the next day.
As of this morning I have lost 45 lbs since March and have a A1C of 5.9!!!!!
I think that's 41.
My energy level is fantastic, my mood is high and am without being hungry.
Thank you all. I have found what works for me with your help.

- What would you say your favourite music genre is? Classical, country, bluegrass, rock sometimes.
- What is your favourite flag? I like the old English flag from the 1600's.
- Ever gone camping? Yes, I love it especially in the National Parks here.

- Ever used fake tan? yes, looked like a streaked carrot and then broke out in hives.
- Which countries have you visited? all over the USA, some Mexico and Canada
- Favourite city? Portland, Oregon
- List your five favourite TV programmes. Doc Martin, The Big Bang Theory, Alaskan Bush People, Small Houses, This Old House. I have turned my TV off while we remodel the house but I occasionally stream TV shows.
- List your five favourite films. Iris, Beetlejuice, Save Me, Portlandia, Saving Mr. Holland.
- Are you wealthy? No
- Do you work? If so, as what? I have a MA in Counseling. I care for an elderly family member and do foster care.
- List the subjects you study/have studied. Business, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing.
- What do you like most about yourself? I am creative and resourceful. I can do it or learn to overcome almost any challenge.
- What do you like least about yourself? I have asthma.
