Hi Neil. I have managed to reverse my diabetes for the last 3 years but it took me a few years to get to grips with it and understand what I needed to do. I am no expert and they am sure there are people on this forum who have much more experience than me and will be able to give you valuable advice. I have seen through other family members the devastating consequences of this horrible condition. Blindness, renal failure neuropathy and Charcot foot.

I managed to reverse it by diet. Less carbs and smaller portions of food. I am one of the lucky ones. Please use this forum to get any answers that you need. I found some excellent videos on ted talks that explained what was happening to my body. And the shame I felt of being diagnosed as if it was my fault. Hope you find answers as knowledge is king and with knowledge we can fight back. Be strong.

Found out I was t2 4 months ago, have been following lchf way of eating, (love it), lost 8 kg, then kinda let a few extra bits and bobs slip in, have maintained but want to lose another 10 to 15 kg, 80 kg now at 5'7.

Started this journey with a hbA1c of 72, 3 months later it is 57, still a way to go yet but I reckon that's a good start in the right direction.

Need to work out how to stop the early morning/fasting levels from shooting up to the 9's.

I have been reading here for a couple of weeks and feel it will be a great place for support and advice,

Hi! I'm new to the forum. My name is Brynn Nicole. I'm 18 years old. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in November of 2012.
I would describe myself as introverted, empathetic, easily distracted, creative, and idealistic, and a night owl.
I live in northeastern Ohio.
I like alternative and indie rock.
One reason I joined the forum was to be able to read other's experiences with diabetes so that I'm reminded that I'm not alone in this, and also to get advice with various things from people who have actually experienced what I'm going through.
