    Good grief.
I haven't got enough life left to answer all those questions but.
I'm male, 75 years old, and married, happily,
I have been type2 for 12years and now it is getting worse, hence my presence here.
Camping? Yes, I was a Scout! Loved it.

Hi my name is Paul and I don't have diabetes, however, I am a podiatrist in rural NSW Oz and I am experiencing a lot of clients with diabetes in my practice. So many that over the last 3 years I have been concentrating on delivering a high quality diabetic assessment and treatment practice. The nearest high risk foot clinic is 11/2 hours drive away, there is over 20,000 people within the council region and only 1 full time (me) and 3 part time podiatrist in the area (all in different practices, so no continuity of service). The best geuss-timate of number of people living with diabetes in this area is 11% of the population, hence the increase in demand for diabetic foot assessments and treatment.

Over the last few years I have been integrating the international standards for clinical assessment into my practice; ABPI, TBPI, neurological assessment etc. However, there is so much more to dealing with diabetic clients then the standard tests, in broadening my knowledge of diabetes I recently discovered this sight and hope it gives me a better understanding of the nuances of diabetes T1 and T2 (and other types). Hopefully I can also contribute something to the discussions as well.

By the way, I'm 56 yo, happily married with 16yo daughter, share 40 acres of bushland with many kangaroos, a wombat, an echidna and many other critters, some slivery and some bitey. I also have 2 dogs, a 16 year old GSP and a 2yo Viszla.

    Regards

    Paul

Hi, I’m Liz. Live in Southampton, Hampshire, but am Scottish. Retired from a life in Primary Education latterly in Higher Education. Loved it, but 55 came last year and so did grandchildren, so I’m loving being with them! Been type 2 for 10 years and no issues until now with a sudden shock rise to an HBA1C of 80! Have no retinal or any other neuropathy issues. I love a wide range of music from Classical to Bon Jovi :). I love travelling and have been all over the world. My favourite country has to be Canada, just stunning. I love crafting, knitting, crochet etc. Read a lot - Kindle is always loaded! Getting to love gardening too. No tattoos and just pierced ears - 1 hole! I guess I’m a bit boring really!! Love meeting up with friends, gossips, laughter. I love sci fi. Ok I’ll admit I’m a Trekkie! Nothing beats a good breezy walk along the waterfront to blow the cobwebs away.

Hi, my name is Claire. I am 55, happily married, live in North Hampshire (near Yateley) no children. I enjoy knitting, crafting, baking and jam making for gifts, cycling, films, reading etc. I suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Adenomyosis which has played havoc with my weight and eventually blessed me with type 2 diabetes. Up until recently my low carb diet helped keep my sugars stable but my GP has suggested to look at a ketogenic diet as this might be more beneficial for weight loss. So, here I am. Nice to meet you all.
