Hi everyone, trying to get to grips with this app! T2 diagnosed 9 y. Diet control only at beginning, then struggled with metformin and slow release metformin for 2 yrs. Came off all meds, sporadic self BG testing but got very complacent - head in sand scenario Last Hb1ac in 70’s. Cholesterol up, high blood pressure, got meds for the lot. So not a happy bunny at mo. Have diabetic symptoms for first time ever, incredible thirst, tiredness, hunger and sweet cravings. Struggling to reset mindset and get myself sorted. I’ve done Keto before and it worked really well for me, just need to get in the zone I’ve taken next week of work so I can’t get my head in gear.
So, any support, advice, TLC and will be greatly appreciated.
Oh and... menopausal female
Live in Gloucester with hubby and 9 yo cocker spaniel
Love country walks (weather permitting)
Work full time for British Heart Foundation

Hi I am Gordon, 50, live close to Glasgow in Scotland. I am C o S, married 1 son n 2 dogs( italian spinones). I like hillwalking, yoga, pilates, metafit, bodyattack and doing weights and cardio.

Love Metal music, try and go to Download festival more often than not. Have contemplated a tattoo, but not succumbed to one yet. Favourite band is 5fdp, but like many others.

I work and my job can be fairly physically challenging at times, as it involves lifting most household goods into customers homes, sometimes flats 3 or 4 high.

Told that I am type 2 few weeks ago and that my reading was 51 mmol. Just waiting to see the nurse and start my journey

Hi everyone. I'm Vicky. 41. Diagnosed T2 in 2008 at 29. Then there was discussion of it being LADA. Was out of control. Injecting victoza etc. Then I lost some weight (4st) and it went into reverse and I came off everything. Years of head burying and slowly it's crept to the place where I have just been prescribed Trulicity on top of my Metformin. I picked it up from the chemist & came home to the results of my retinopathy screening - background retinopathy. It's been a massive kick to the gut and I need to make changes so I'm throwing myself into this community again like I did in the beginning.

Aside from the big D, I work in training and development, I'm a local radio DJ and a stand up comic. I love 90s indie mostly, have one cat and a husband. My favourite cocktail is a Negroni (and I WILL still have one occasionally) and my biggest weakness is pastries

Hi every body
I am a retired Electronics Instructor. Married Male 76 years old. with Type 1 diabetes for 57 years.
I have been a pump user since 2012, presently on a Medtronic 670G Insulin pump with a MiniMed Mio Advanced cannular.
I use the Contour next link 2.4 blood glucose meter and Libre Freestyle meter, but on going problems with the accuracy of the Libre compared with finger pricks.
I have sent back 9 faulty sensors. Abbottt have replaced these. I have asked for feedback about the errors but to date nothing, very frustrating.
The error codes date back to 22/01/2019 -11/02/2020. (99 various in total). I am having to use finger prick tests more often.
I understand other users of the Abbott Freestyle have problems, when will they improve?

I need some help with a friend who is type 1 and having too many(3 in the last two months) 911 calls for low blood sugars. We have both been type 1 for many years and he will listen to me, but is too stubborn to use the tools to get better control Like a gcm or similar treatment. He is very athletic and wants to be in control by himself without alarms in the middle of the night. Stubborn man, and I can't convince him of treatment options.
