Hi my name is Lurline. I am 58yrs old. My occupation was Health Care Assistant. I have not worked since 2014 due to mobility problems and a disabilitating back. I have a bmi of 52, and I am prediabetic. I am currently on the NHS weight programme I have about 4 months to complete. I need to loose some of the weight that I have gained over the pandemic. I am hoping use some of the diabetic receipes to help me.

Hello diabetes community. I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. Currently residing in the Netherlands and glad to be part of a forum to communicate in English. I was diagnosed as diabetic > 15 yrs ago. Lived all over the world and loved all the associated adventures. My poor health finally warranted the big change so here I'm recently retired and learning to deal with this big stop!. After 40+ yrs of being active, retirement has brought on new challenges to adjust so I am hoping to connect with people in similar situations and learning how to better adjust. I'm married (38 yrs) and have two grown children. I'm a vegetarian and food (Indian, Italian you name it all) and red wine (recently discovered Barolo's and can't talk enough about this Italian nectar). But now getting better appreciation about moderation in both categories. Keeping active with 40-45 min brisk walk but that's starting to be more challenging given all the aches and pains. Seen way too many doctors; tried home therapies and looking forward to more ideas from this community. Ok time to post now! Look forward to connecting for inspiration and moral support.

Following an injury at work 6 years ago where I injured my back, I now live with Chronic
Pain and reduced mobility so find it very difficult to get around unaided. So i'm currently
unable to work.

I have an educational background in Science and qualified as a Podiatrist but have also been involved
with computers and IT through various companies I have worked for.
Hobby wise I have studied Magic since I was a young teenager.

I'm new to this, I haven't got diabetes but at risk of getting type 2, so I'm trying to change my lifestyle and the way I eat and what I eat. And get lots of excercise.

I'm lost to what all this is and what to do as I'm rubbish at doing things online.

My name is Adam. I'm have had Type 1 diabetes for around 30 years. Diagnosed around 13 years old. Currently reside in the US. I've been on multiple types of treatments over the years. NPH and Regular when I was diagnosed, Pump for 15 years and currently using Tresiba with Novolog.

I have been in the IT field for over 20 years. Currently working at a medium-sized company as a solutions architect.

As for sports, I love to run and bike when I'm not injured. I'm also learning to swim.

I definitely have my ups and downs when it comes to Type 1 diabetes, but I'm trying to stay positive.
