Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hi @David Perry , welcome to the forum :)

Have a read round, lots of great info and members willing to share their experiences, ask any questions you may have and feel free to share. We have lots of members who manage their diabetes with diet only.

Just a quick question: In your info it says you have gestational diabetes, is this correct or did you tick the wrong box? For replies to questions, it can make a big difference what type of diabetes someone has.

Hi Sarsparilla,
As you can see from my previous post, I was going well till I wasn’t! Treasure being prediabetic, you really don’t want to be on medication with all its side effects. Diarrhoea at times, nausea, stomach clenching cramps etc
All you have to do is learn about low carb diets, sugar spikes, and exercise and you can have freedom to enjoy life. Take it seriously now and hopefully you’ll have a healthy happy future.
Hello Amos, Thanks for your response. I am taking the diagnosis seriously, just not as seriously as I think I probably should, so your warning is apposite. I have started lower carb (Christmas will put something of a dent in that) but it will definitely resume in the New Year. Exercise has not been so good, I do not do enough though am far from totally inactive. I hope that this will help and at the very least keep me pre-diabetic, although greatly reduced blood sugar and waist size and not even prediabetic would be good. I hope you manage to get back on track and do well again.
