Hello my name is Kyle, male, 62, retired, and I was diagnosed with T2 yesterday but have been borderline for many years. I just completed chemotherapy and did not watch my diet during my treatments and was unable to exercise consistently. Hi, I’m Dawn and I was recently diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes.
I’m doing the Oviva app course my health centre advised, taking the metformin prescribed and trying to change my eating habits.
I am 59 and weigh 21 stone. (I’ve been that weight since I was 22.) I don’t eat unhealthily or between meals - just clearly too much for my metabolism/frame. I also have pcos, and fibromyalgia.
I’m married (36 years) with 1 grown son and 2 little grandchildren. I don’t work - I have the grandkids 4 days a week - but in the past I used to teach and produce braille.

My endocrinologist has just sent a letter closing as no benefit in follow up. it says my HbA1c was 44 in January 2020 - the first time anyone has said I am in the pre diabetic range. I always knew PCOS could go this way. Think I better get an updated HbA1c & start trying to make changes

Morning. I am Colette, age 61 and had type 1 diabetes for 40 years. Had many ups and downs over the years and recently started the Libre Link sensor which seems to have helped me no end.
I was in the 80s for mmol and now around 53 so very happy about that.
Just hoping the damage hasn’t already been done as having some foot issues.

Good to meet you. I am new too. Just trying to get used to the technology. Relatively recently diagnosed with diabetes T2. Brought on probably by catastrophically bad luck in having to have a kidney unexpectedly removed and following that up with a very bad fall at home.
Live in MA in US in Salisbury, near a beach I haven't been able to walk on for 5-6 years I am trying to be optimistic about things, but find it difficult sometimes. I am going to have to make some drastic lifestyle changes now, am thinking of some supplements,8 Suchi Chromium, and minerals, some Ayervedic treatments & intermittent fasting. Have not made buckets of friends as I have been fighting for my life here. I want to get hopping onto I a new manner of earning a living. Nuff of that! C
