Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hello! I'm Samantha and my husband has recently been diagnosed type 2.
We are keen amateur musicians, and live on a Scottish island, with two pet cats and a pet snake. I mostly work from home, but sometimes travel a bit for work, too. I do virtually all of the cooking for us so I am keen to help my husband control his blood glucose through what he eats, and to find ways he can easily keep this up when I am away.
He's been a typical British white bread/potatoes/white rice/white pasta man for all his life but now flatly refuses to touch the white stuff - I'll be taking my spares to the food bank shortly!
We are in our 50s. We love to holiday in Scotland.

Hi to all! I am Liliya. I was diagnosed with type 2 nearly 10 years ago. I am from Russia. I live near Ekatherinburg city. I graduated from the University - english department .....I like classical music and play the piano. .... At first when i was diagnosed whith diabetes I controlled my blood glucose every day...Now i control my blood glucose once a week, because stripes to the glucometre here are very expensive.( I mean in Russia).

Hello Liliya and welcome :) You obviously dont have a national health service like we do here in the UK where we get our things on prescription and some people like my wife and myself get these things for free as we are on benefits.

Hello! ... We have a national health service here in Russia and we get tablets for free but we are not given stripes for free or sometimes we are given once in 6 months. And it is not enough to control my blood glucose . (sorry if there are mistakes in my writing, I am Russian as i have already told)
