Since I was diagnosed I have hoped I would not have to take any meds at all and the thought of taking insulin is scary. It took me months to accept taking Metformin but gave in when my sugar levels began to rise. It made me feel nauseous for weeks.

Love watching sport but the most athletic thing I do is a quick ride to the shops and back on my sit-up-and-beg bike, or inspired by events at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games a faster than normal yomp across the fields with my dog.

Would love to say no, but am afraid that rampant high blood sugar levels left me somewhat testy to say the least - am on a much calmer level now I am pleased to say

NO - did you see how old I am? I still think about Hepatitis and Aids when I hear the buzz of the needles in the local tattoo parlour

@Angelmum21 vewwy interesting answers, you rate as a character and I am sure that you will use your creative writing skills to pay off those debts. I have done Freelance Journalism but never worked at it and I know journalism is a tough gig and the weak willed do not make it, congratz you have done well.

Hi LLSmith,
It is very hard when someone's behaviour changes in that way - believe me I had plenty of experience of that with my demented mother. I guess the best thing would be for you to talk to your friend and check that he is aware that he does this? and that it is linked to low blood sugar and then discuss how he can get better control of his sugar levels in future.
I certainly had to apologise to my kids for snapping at them when I was an undiagnosed diabetic.
