hi new to the forum ,
im bill -53 been diabetic for a for over 5 years now was 21 stone now cant seem to get below 17/18 stone ,i was shocked to see that dietry advice given to me was incorrect .i am now going to try this low carb one ( which im not looking foward to lol) all my favourite foods have to go ,i currently have been eating porridge /bran flakes.chicken rice/ pasta .potaoes with veggies not too bad only loosing potatoes on that one.must say not a salad lover dont mind it in small portions.
love my computer . movies . used to go to gym but wasnt loosing weight and it was costing a fortune.so now do a 3 mile walk after doing my 12 hr shift. sometimes cant be bothered but still go.
Hi @ bill61 I've been doing lchf since October last year. Like you, I loved potatoes, ate lots of pasta, porridge and bran flakes for breakfast, and bread, and I'm not mad on salad. However, Since being on the diet I have not missed any of these. It's very strange and hard to explain, and others with be able to explain the science behind it better than me, but I have not had any cravings even when the food items have been put on my plate. I've even become a little scared of some things, such as bread for example, because I know how ill it made me feel. You will feel different - I feel so much better in every way, but you'll need to experience it yourself. The added bonus for me is that I love dairy which I have always restricted 'because it's not good for you', and I still feel a bit naughty having cream in my coffee! Good luck with it anyway, and keep us posted about how you get on.
