The supplement is the D form of aspartic acid whereas the aspartic acid found in aspartame is the L form which is the same as that found in proteins. The 2 molecules are mirror-images of each other and are metabolised differently so aspartame is not likely to be a particular problem for "the ladies".apparently Asparate is also believed to be a testosterone booster, and is sold as a supplement in its own right. Enormous aye? Well in what combinations did they check small amounts whilst taking any of the other fifty thousand man made substances/drugs/chemicals in our food at the same time does that apply to? Fifty thousand! That makes it impossible for any study to be truly meaningful because it is impossible to test all the combinations different people are mixing with who knows what. The reality is we are using our minds and bodies in a great experiment that no one is running and no one is in charge of so no one really has a clue. It's out of control. I would have a read about the difference between nutritional ketosis and ketoacidosis.They also told me that fasting is not helpful as it can cause liver to turn fat into glucose which produce ketones

I've found that my low carb diet is causing kidney stones had to go to hospital because of ketones in urine but it was kidney stone awful pain .told to up water intake and balanced diet no so much low carb .its a minefield not easy to know what's right

It works in rats. No human trials showing that are gold standard. Seems to belong in the weight lifters section of fitness mags, so I cannot personally vouch for any claims..Now that is clever marketing!
Whenever I drank aspartame containing squash or fizzy drink, I felt really odd and lightheaded, so I learned to avoid it.

Aspartame has three components, phenylalanine, aspartic acid and methanol into which it is broken down in digestion. All are naturally occurring, Only the last is toxic at high doses but you would have to have quite a bit to exceed the amount of methanol normally found in food but that is up to you as others say above. The bizarre scare stories about aspartic acid would be humorous if not for the continued post-fact generation. There is about 3,000 times as much aspartic acid in a small steak as in a can of diet coke. The kind of stuff tells you that there is no really evidence of harm.
