Could be many things. Not everything is diabetes related. I've not heard of itching as a symptom of diabetes. You may have an allergy or something. Best see a doc. Good luck.

Itching can be a sign of high blood sugars.
I like to be awkward though, I wake up at night itching if my blood sugars have dropped down too low. So may possibly be related to your sugar levels.

Hi,
You have to consider that high blood sugars affect all organs of the body and your skin is the biggest organ. People usually think of internal organs being affected.

Try and get your blood sugars under control and it should ease.

If you need any help in managing your blood sugars then ask away, there are plenty of Type 1s willing to help.

Hi. I have very sever itching to my torso back and chest. It never stays in the same place and there is no redness and it usually lasts for about 45 mins to an hour.It is so bad that i just wish i could rip my skin off and i must admit it has nearly brought me to tears as it is unbearable.
I have tablets and creams but nothing seems to work.I am type 2 and have been for around 3 years now.It is only recently that i went back to see the new doctor and she said it is because i am a diabetic and it is the nerve endings.
Th itching is unbearable and every time i have a shower i have to spend time just rolling from side to side on the bed to ease the itching until it has gone.It is just like dragging your body through stinging nettles.
I always seem to get it when i first get in to bed as well which means i am awake for another hour or until it stops.

I had same problem with itching, Dr told me as BS was so high it needed an escape route so comes out through pores. I got cream for it, after a few days the it hing calmed down, I have taken big chunks out of my hands and arms with it. X

If I eat too many carbs, you can bet your bottom dollar my feet and legs itch.

I had an awful itchy skin. I thought i would go mad but it has stopped since i gave up smoking. I was sure it was diabetes related but now i dont really now.
