Diabetic 2 fatty liver and GORD. Low carb suits me best and I love real "fat" as in butter cream etc. Good for the diabetes but not so good for the liver? Also coconut oil is delicious and I used to add it to coffee, porridge but wax concerned about my fatty liver levels. As for GORD there are quite a few foods I can't eat now. Any advice is very welcome.

Why do you think real fat is bad for the liver? Have you any links about this?

LCHF cured my fatty liver. My readings were a massive and scary 185 and within 6 months of low carb, they were down to a normal 35. A subsequent ultrasound scan has confirmed my liver is now normal :)
Sorry I can't help on the GORD. Probably a personal trial and error to see what works (or doesn't) for you ?

LCHF improved my liver function too - especially the saturated fats !

No, but the nurses at the surgery keep telling me to eat carbs and spreads instead of butter. So out of date! Have never bought into the fake fat phenomenon. Natural fat has got to be the right one. But wondered if anyone had any evidence to tell me otherwise. Reading below I see we are in agreement.

I had NAFL, so did the wife!
Both have now good liver function and fatty liver is diminished.

What is GORD?

My daughters MIL had GORD (GERD?). She has gone on a Low Carb diet, about 7 months ago, and her GORD has gone. She still has to be careful and low carb, otherwise it comes back. It was so bad it was affecting her vocal chords from the acid, now she has her normal voice back.

What is GORD?

Gastric oesophageal reflux disease which is acid indigestion but can turn very nasty, as in cancerous. Mine is caused by a hiatus hernia and certain foods exacerbate the pain. USA it is known as GERD because they spell the oesophagus as esophagus
