Low Carb Doctor Silenced ! Gary Fettke Becomes Australia's Tim Noakes

Thanks for posting this - I hadn't heard about it. Totally ridiculous and desperate. They make themselves look like complete idiots and I think Marika is right - they have now stirred the unintended consequences of social media. What a bunch of reactionary losers :rolleyes:
 
A couple of other responses to this farce that I've run across.

He's absolutely right about the Pete Evans thing - the media establishment here (especially the ones in opposition to Channel 7) absolutely hate Pete and go after him with hysterical vitriol.

I find it interesting that the ones who started the ball rolling were the dieticians in the first place! They don't like having their toes trodden on do they? It all amounts to a witch hunt which the authorities decided to use to their advantage to try to put someone down.
 
Did we not think that the drug companies with a huge world wide well funded lobby would not seek to protect the multi billions they make each year from diabetic drugs!!!!!!

The acceptance of low carb high fats diet, even if it applies only to a fraction of the diabetes patients is an existential threat to many pharma and food companies...

The president of American Association of Diabetics Educators - Hope Warsaw openly dismiss the "LOW CARB MANIA" that is healing, liberating and empowering us...

This is not the only instance of opposition to self help of health issues to smell of pharmaceutical influence. Treatment of diabetes must be a huge earner for the drug companies.

Organisations like Diabetes Australia are STILL promoting the outdated 'food pyramid' which puts carbo loaded food on the "eat the most" and fats are at the tip. When contacting them about their advice to diets (the food they recommend raises BSL) the reply was a generic "this is what dieticians and other medical professionals recommend". To these people, LCHF is a form of witchcraft:banghead:

Hopeless Warshaw is one of a breed of dinosaurs that will one day orgotten along with her mis-education IMHO
 
There is a petition currently going around that a few like Marika Sboros and Dr Jason Fung have tweeted about calling for people to sign and/or donate to the cause.
This has greater ramifications in both general practice and specialists not being able to advise patients about dietary advice.
It is beyond ridiculous!
I hope all Australians on this site and anyone who has followed the Noakes trial will get behind by either signing the e petition or donating so that the Fettkes can continue their work in Tasmania and so Gary can get back to the work he does lecturing about what he sees, works with and knows so well.
 
Not surprised. Look how they persecuted that poor woman who had her baby taken by a Dingo when camping at Ayes Rock! Just because she happened to be in a very minority religion. I think she was a Seventh Day adventist.

Don't worry, we are hoping that Dr Fettke become the Australian version of Prof. Noakes. The more publicity this gets the more ridiculous the medical fraternity will be exposed. Imagine, an orthopaedic surgeon can cut into peoples bodies but are not allowed to advise their patient not to eat sugar ... because they are not a qualified dietician! Dr:"You must give up smoking: Patient:"Are you a qualified tobacconist?":banghead: (Disclaimer: This conversation may not have occurred)
