I agree that listing the Carbs @EllieM is good and unusual; normally it's just Calories, Fats, Salt etc. I've seen worse ingredient lists.

My point exactly - I assume it may be ok for T1 - my knowledge is slim on that but for T2 or pre diabetic they are not very suitable- never used this kind of pre boxed cook yourself food so have no knowledge of that either

Don’t forget that there are different ways to treat the different types of diabetes … and there are more than two types.

Seems to be better than hospital food. Probably more expensive than self propelled cooking when taking delivery charge into effect. Saw nothing that grabbed me by the lapels. My droolswitch remained in the inactive position.

I hadn’t forgotten which is why I specifically said in my second post that it isn’t really suitable for T2 and pre diabetes

I also want to emphasise that there are different ways to treat all types of diabetes.
Low carb is pushed heavily on this forum but it is not suitable for everyone with type 2.

I just ticked the first five options, as a box for 1. Not cheap, bearing in mind these are a single (probably) meal and still have to be cooked (add energy costs), plus a further couple of meals, means, in my view, these would be tricky for anyone without a generous budget.

As a pensioner, one meal is virtually half my weekly food allowance. I, for one, am out.

My sister is T2 but can’t low carb due to other issues, not least her stoma (sp?) just saying, I love LC

The service is relatively expensive (you pay a lot for the ingredients!) but the meals are tasty if you choose the right ones.
We used it occasionally during the lockdowns, when it was convenient & as something different.

But a year ago I started monitoring my BG levels, freaked out (I’m T2) and so went (moderate) low carb. Hence cancelled Mindful Chef!

But they did write asking why, & I managed to directly correspond with a cofounder explaining almost all of their meals were too high in carbs for me.

They did say they were considering a low carb offering.

So would help if more people were to request that!

Gee, @AndBreathe, these are a complete ripoff. I could make 4 servings of chickpea and harissa wraps with sweet potato fries for less than they are charging!

I would have thought an extremely low carb and therefore less waste way of eating would be great for that.
Although I will admit to never having looked into it.

Unfortunately it seems to have made her very ill, she has to eat the opposite to low carb, this was devastating as she was so into it and the weight was falling off, once her bowel gets reconnected she will be straight back to it.

There was a Forum member who had a stoma, and he was using LC but found it presented difficulties. The main problem he had though was dealing with medications. He has not posted recently so have not had update.

Fingers crossed she can get back to the best of health soon, in whatever format that is.
