My Two Penny Worth

Er...What? I had to go on Google to find out what most of those words mean lol Might have been cause I was adopted!!

"Any threat to that dopamine supply is quickly dealt with by personal attack in an attempt to remove it. I am, no doubt, not the first to be dealt with as such. And those others may well have made worthwhile contributions to diabetics but they are lost.

So anyone who makes a good difference to something is "Lost"? Thats it guys we are all screwed lol

The gurus egotistical quackery remains the soul of the forum and the snipers and sheep continue to provide excellent dopamine kicks to satisfy their needs. The site becomes all about the gurus and diabetes is secondary, they cause more harm than they do good.

Guru is a Sanskrit term for "teacher" or "master", especially in Indian religions. The Hindu guru-shishya tradition is the oral tradition or religious doctrine or experiential wisdom transmitted from teacher to student

Thats the def of a Guru and I would agree there are a lot of Gurus on here, they are called "Experienced Diabetics" who have lived with this for many years and want to pass on knowledge to HELP others, Not brainwash with Psychology long words and defensive attacks due to someone questioning their attitude and statements.

As a newbie I have had nothing but support from these people, far more than the medical brotherhood and in my life it has been brothers and sister who have LIVED the problems of life that have supported me. NEVER once has psychologists or head shrinks or GPs etc helped me more than people like these GURUS.

Thats my 5 penny worth, the word according to Tigger

I am not sure they work well. I once saw one of my felines sitting next to one in a female neightbour's shrubbery. The feline was not bothered by any sound.

Same here! The guys here knew I'd been mis-diagnosed before even I did and after reading their concerns here I acted on them and made lot's of noise with the GP and got referred to the endo-tested for autoimmune diabetes and the rest is history.

I think the OP abandoned ship on about page two. Reckon that means all bets are off. Although I agree what the boys above are saying about this forum being a life saver. My dietician needs locking up

I have a Sociology A level but pretty soon after starting the course I realised it was all total rubbish. My daughter has a first class honours degree in Sociology and Criminology another degree in plain Sociology and also a Masters (the last two were done while working). She thinks Sociology is rubbish too but it got her the career she wanted to follow. She's now in her second year of training to be a Counsellor which apparently is only partly rubbish.

I hate social "science". How dare they besmirch real science. At best its just statements of the bleeding obvious and at worse total dangerous rubbish. Has anyone else come across the pathetic nonsense that is "Postmodernism".
