Needing some advice.

I was diagnosed in may 2022. I've pretty much had my head in the sand since. Today, my BP is 148 and pulse 106 and it should be under 100. The nurse said it's high. The optician diagnosed blepheritis on Friday.
What do I do? I've almost completely stopped eating as I've lost my appetite. I'm not taking the metaforim and I've no idea what I should be doing.
Where can I get help? I'm so good at ignoring reality.
Any advice is most welcome.

Hi and welcome to the forums. I take it you've been diagnosed with Type 2? And did they tell you what your HbA1c score was?

I found that going low-carb worked really well for me - that means cutting out all starches and sugars, including bread, cereals, potatoes, pastry, pasta, rice, fruit, and anything sugary. Many people on these forums have had a lot of success that way - there's a "Success Stories" section that gives a few accounts.

These forums are a great resource, and people are very willing to help. Just ask about anything, and you'll find at least one person who's been through it already.

best of luck

Hi @AuldWifey - welcome to the forum. Just logging on and saying hi is a big step for a lot of people - well done for that.

Could you maybe just confirm what you have been diagnosed with? (too slow in the posting, I realise)
As it happens, I had terrible trouble with the skin around my eyes for a long time, and was also diagnosed with Blepheritis. It's one of the list of things that's quietly disappeared recently doing what @KennyA above recommends - the good news is that there really is a lot you can do for yourself

Well, the main thing, I suppose, is seeing that there's a problem. You've ignored reality, sure.... But you're here now, so I guess some of it is trickling through, and you're not happy with the status quo? Change things around a little, learn about what foods affect you adversely for instance, and the odds are rather in your favour when it comes to getting blood sugar control and feeling better over-all. You're not well, and you could be feeling better, happier, healthier. It's not impossible. ;)

Good luck!

I was diagnosed T2 in July 2021 I understand. I get real down occasionally with it all. I eat low carb, not NO CARB. Its bad enough having to really restrict what you eat without being a saint There is such a Thing as ‘Diabetes Distress’, yes definitely, this is where you get REALLY fed up with all the restrictions to what you can eat. I don’t inject, just have Empagliflozin and THE DIET
It does not help when you want to eat out and majority of the menus are high carb. Oh yesssss, I tell the venue when they ask of allergies etc and when you get there its a different story.

So, keep your hopes up, get back on the bike as they say…… Try to find treats that help keep your motivation going.
