Hi Leigh,Hi. I am a new member and have been diagnosed last week with type 1. I have looked for the answers in the forum, however I can’t find what I’m looking for.
I’m a 32 year old male. And was recently self admitted to hospital with bloods in the 30s.
Since then I have been given lantus (10 units in the morning) and novarapid (6 units for each meal) if my bloods are above 15.
I have been logging my levels over the last four days and I can not get my bloods below 15. On average they sit between 15 and 25. Is this doing damage? Do I need to adjust my insulin levels? I’m still very new to this and it seems weird that I can’t get anywhere near the target of between 4-8.
Should I contact my gp or endo and up my dosage?
Thanks.
Sorry for the newbie questions.

Here I was thinking I was eating healthy, but obviously not diabetic healthy.

Have you tried the Explore Cuisine low carb pasta? Suprisingly good, former pasta junkie here! And eating 'normally' helps the diabetes team work out your dosages. They will probably ask you to keep a detailed food diary for a few weeks so you can identify the foods that have the most impact on your sugar levels. My nightmare is pasta - & I love pasta!!!
