So diagnosed at the end of April with T2 and an hba1c of 96. Immediately prescribed metformin 3 times a day. After reading and asking for advice from this forum I changed my eating to a LCHF diet of around 50 to 70g carbs per day and bought myself a bg monitor. Since then I’ve lost 3 stone in weight and today I’ve received the results of my 3 mth hba1c test and it’s 41 - I’m delighted! My gp has agreed to reduce the metformin to 2 per day and see where I am in 3 months.
