Some are required to fast (8 to 12 hours), some don't have to, and I have no idea what the difference is. So might as well fast and make sure.Even though I wasnt told to farst for my C-peptide test, should I or does it matter?
if I am allowed to get it tested again I will be farsting. / I am waiting for my genetic test results or mody, to come back any idea what this test is going to determine or should I not even worry about this test its going to take a while to get back due to covid-19Some are required to fast (8 to 12 hours), some don't have to, and I have no idea what the difference is. Mody is a type of diabetes that is a bit of a mix of T1 and T2, I suppose... Hi. Anyone who tells you to have a high level of carbs hasn't a clue and should definitely be ignored. Whether T1 or T2, carbs need to be controlled to some extent and even when on insulin they need to be controlled enough to avoid weight gain and insulin resistance. You can have fat and protein fairly freely. Can you let us know what your BMI is? If it's over 25 then you may well still be having too many carbs. You say you are on Gliclazide and Basal/Bolus insulin? This is not normal and you need to suggest to the GP that one or other is stopped; probably the Gliclazide. My DN forgot to stop my Glic when I started insulin and readily did that when I pointed it out to her. Also the Novorapid should be taken for all important meals which normally means 3x per day injected around 15 minutes before eating. You should also be carb-counting and that means adjusting the Novorapid at each meal based on the amount of carbs using your 'Bolus ratio'. I get the feeling that your surgery diabetes support is not good so keep learning from this website, ask questions and be prepared to question your GP/DN treatment. The good side is that you have been given GAD and C-Peptide tests which is more than I was offered!
And this could be the reason you’re having issues if you really are type 2. What foods are you eating in a day? Don’t worry about weights, if it’s the right thing it won’t matter much and if it’s wrong the more of it the bigger the problem. Just a list of the items you eat and drink.and don't know how to carb count at all. Would be happy to learn.
Try without any dhal or rice at all and see what difference it has on your readings. It might surprise you. Don’t forget to prevent hunger this might mean increasing fats and proteins. Which veggies? Some are much better than othersI eat once or twice a day, sometimes even once,
I usually have some veggies and meat and carbs with my meal. For example, I could have a tuna with veggies. Or fish and veggies on the side, or dhaal and rice on the side. Its different everyday but I'm going to start taking pictures of my meals.

The only potential suspect there are peas. Not too bad for most in moderation but something to hold in the back of your mindSpinach, broccoli, peas, kale, I usually mix them all up into a bowl.
