Hi folks new here,

I have been diabetic type 2 for 15 years. And my feet are really numb I am on meds for this.

The foot speaclist said my nerves can't be repaired but reading on here, folks are saying thay do.

Just wondered has anyone had any success having the numbness go with good BG management. Thanks for reading VB

Hi Vaultboy. Some do and some don't and in any case it may well take years of good control before any signs of it. But in any case it's worth getting good BG control so as to stop the neuropathy getting any worse. One thing thing that surprises many (though it shouldn't) is that if there is re-growth of nerves it is usually painful at first.
Thus it causes people to wonder if they are doing something wrong.

Hi. I don't know about the nerves being repaired, but my foot tingling and pain has definitely decreased since getting BG back to normal. Still have a bit though, so there's clearly damage, but it's nothing like as painful as it was.

I went from super dry skin and mild tingling shortly after diagnosis, to full blown, tear inducing agony once I started to regain glucose control. Unspeakable pain at night. Throbbing, burning, stabbing pains that would make me leap out of bed and stomp around the house trying to walk off the crippling cramps.

Five years later my feet look and feel like those of a teenager. Smooth, soft skin on the balls and heels. No pain or numbness. Clear, healthy nails. All achieved by a tenacious commitment to whole food keto with pretty much zero compromise. Not saying that everyone will be as fortunate but it’s certainly not impossible to repair the damage done by years of ravaging diabetes. Especially when you have the motivation that I did!

The only reason the establishment thinks it’s definitely irreversible is because their dietary advice makes diabetes irreversible. Fix the problem at source and the body will surprise anyone. It’s actually quite miraculous what can be achieved.

Well done you 're an inspiration.. Not too many doctors want to learn it's easier to discourage people and keep on prescribing thoughtlessly.

I had non diabetic neuropathy prior to diabetes, and sorting out my anaemia helped to reduce the impact from this..
