The Originals like many others at Motown started as backing groups.
They appeared on many of Marvin Gayes best work. When and if you listen to their songs, you will say to yourself, oh yeah I've heard that!
Saw her at Bournemouth a few years ago. She was awsome, really talented ladyNot a huge fan either, but Dolly Parton and Jolene, love it........enjoy
Nooooooo! My parents had this album! Quick cover my ears - they're bleeding!Ha! Gotcha! (ironic Falklands reference ) Robert Wyatt also had a hit with "Shipbuilding " in the 80's, though I always preferred the original version by Elvis Costello, who wrote it. As a 60's/70's prog-rock nerd I still live in hope of something by RW's first band, Soft Machine, making it into the charts
PS: four words to expunge Clive Dunn from your head: "Saint Winifred's School Choir" :***:
Northern Soul? I LOVE Northern Soul
Here's a couple of classics, technically the artists aren't one hit wonders, but they were one hit wonders in the UK, enjoy

Think he had two other top 40 in the states, 'The In Crowd' & 'Drift 'Away'
Any other out there favourites of Northern Soul
One of mine is Chris Clark!
I've been looking at my catalogue of music and something that stuck about Al Wilson, I really like another song he recorded called 'Show & Tell'Not a fan of The Snake then? Maybe you should start a Northern Soul thread mate......
That was the first Karaoke song I was FORCED to sing but I made a bloody good job of it to the astonishment of the DJ. Got a massive round of applause too.I do mean that one, but the guy that sang it was never heard from again
