One word to describe the moment before your first ever pin prick test

Sorry - it was far too rude to post on an open forum.

It was that long ago that I first tested my bgl I have forgotten, so it could not have been memorable.

Not impressed. (Much better than someone else doing a pin prick to me to test for who knows what every time I donated blood)
Yep, this isn't going to hurt half as much as those little stabby things they use to test the sinking blood blob before you donate an armful. (Ok, more than one word but that's what I told myself!)

All of these one words!

terror, fright, fearfulness, horror, alarm, panic, agitation, trepidation, dread, consternation, dismay, distress. anxiety, worry, angst, unease, uneasiness, apprehension, apprehensiveness, nervousness, nerves, timidity, disquiet, disquietude, discomposure, unrest, perturbation, foreboding, misgiving, doubt!!!!

Wincing! And used the whole free pot of 10 strips figuring out how to do it!

I did not give myself time to think if I had I would probably never done it. cocked the lancing device poked it at finger and pressed trigger all in one continuous action.

**** that was when I realised I had not produced enough blood for a test the first time.

Then it was tears of frustration and an entirely different word when I got my third error message in a row.

I felt a bit of needle creeping in...(there was a ruder alternative)
