Protein ice cream

IMHO it is disgusting, tastes artifical and is nothing like Ice Cream.

P.S. that goes for all the other fake ice creams too (Oppo etc etc)

I realised a long time ago that looking for substitutes and experimenting was the road to madness.......

A couple of months ago we bought an ice cream maker (about £28) and now make our own low carb sugar-free ice cream. It's not difficult and experimenting with flavour is fun. Our first batch was Earl Grey tea flavour - delicious on its own and even nicer drizzled with hot 85% cocoa chocolate.

I love Oppo! These little tubs have approx same carb count as Oppo per portion (2 scoops).

Just bought my own Ice cream maker and I now make my own low carb keto ice cream made with double cream, whipping cream, egg yolks and Stevia.

And the flavours are -

- Fresh Strawberries

- Choc/mint with fresh mint leaves

- Avocado (with very ripe avocado)

- Pineapple (not too ripe)

- Choc/ Nut (with hazelnuts, pecan and walnuts)

Delicious!!!

At 14g per serving that's about 50% less than 'normal' ice cream and probably a wiser option. However personally it's approaching the limit for my own LC diet. I'll stick with our DIY no-carb creations :)

I didn't buy any, which tells you something.

One thing I will say is the carb count, as well as having an "of which are sugar", have an "of which are polyols".

I have these as an occasional treat. 8g of carbs per pot for the vanilla ones. I actually quite like them and don’t get spikes after.
