It seems to be up to the GP practise how they define it - my hba1c has been between 34 and 37 for last 4 years but I have been told that I am not in remission just well controlled. However a colleague had 2 hba1c readings of 41 and was told by his GP that his diabetes was now resolved so it seems to be up to individual interpretation.Yes, I know that definition. I was wondering if the NHS had an official definition or if it was just that particular nurse's idea of remission. Sounds like the latter.
