Sat Fat gets vindicated...

Well, I hope that people realise that animal fat is not 100% saturated fat, and that plant fats are not 100% unsaturated fats.
People often take that polarising view when considering saturated fat, and it couldn't be further from the truth, as the graphic below demonstrates:

Another nail in the coffin.

There will be more "yeah but...", "let's start from here", "but if we do a back flip and and triple somersault and the stars align, sat fat will kill you". Dethroning this myth will take alot more than facts or even common sense, as sat fat has to be bad to support all sorts of systems. I expect something new to be found in Meat, Dairy or Fish, such as these will grow you an extra ear or arthritis. We're getting there no matter what left of centre comes.

@bulkbiker you are out of order....you showed the conclusion, but this power point for me says it all:

"The major correlate of high CVD risk was the proportion of energy from carbohydrates and alcohol, or from potato and cereal carbohydrates."

Mea culpa ... sorry !

I love full fat Hellman's mayo, but it contains rapeseed oil. Is that not a good idea? I tried making my own mayo with olive oil, but it was too runny.

I havent found a mayo without rapeseed oil in a shop, hence my question about the fat composition of rapeseed oil.

Rapeseed and canola oil are the same thing one of the cheapest and nastiest of the seed oils
Sat fat 7.8%
PUFA 30.1%
MUFA 62%

Lard for example is
Sat 44%
MUFA 42%
PUFA 9.5%

Avocado oil
Sat 13%
MUFA 68%
PUFA 10%

Most would say avoid high content PUFA so...

I haven't tried it but I think a company called Hunter and Gatherer does mayo with healthier fats.

They do. Avocado oil Mayo in 3 flavours. Delish.
You’ll have to pawn your winter coat to pay for them, but they are something special.
I got them from Amazon, at a reduced price.

oh. Not going to be affordable, and I dont like avocado. I will look at some youtube videos on how to make my own. Thanks/

I'd like a mayo recipe that does very small quantities. I'm the only eater of it in our house and would use it perhaps 3 or 4 times a month. Not worth making just for me if its a big quantity that doesn't keep

Their basic Avocado Oil Mayonnaise is one of my essential buys and I get a couple of jars whenever Ocado has it on offer,

@lucylocket61 Regarding rapeseed oil, I will occasionally buy stuff containing it, but as I don't swig it by the gallon I reckon it's not doing me much harm, but that's my personal opinion. However, living near fields of rape and having no choice but to inhale the pollen was quite a different kettle of fish!:yuck:

I tend to use olive oil/lard/butter but occasionally have a spoonful of Hellman’s FF Mayo. To be honest as I only have it 1-2 times a week I don’t worry about the rapeseed oil it contains.
