SCANNING FOR READINGS ON SMART PHONE

I have a libre 2 with a sensor on my upper arm. I use my meter to do readings most of the time, but when I try to do a reading with my phone, I am constantly frustrated because it doesn't seem to connect properly! It makes a little bleep or two but does not achieve the full tune! Hence it does not successfully read most of the time. I must be spending half of my life trying to do scans without success! Does anyone else have this problem when trying to scan for readings using their smart phones?

Does this happen all the time with different sensors? I have had the odd one or two that have been faulty like this. Abbott have always replaced faulty ones for me.

It works fine with the meter, but there are always problems when using my phone.

Have you got a case around it? I usually have to take mine out...

You'll likely need to find the sweet spot of where to touch your sensor with your phone.
A previous phone wirked best when touching the sensor at an angle at the top side, my current phone likes to be placed flat on the sensor with the top edge of the phone.
And from memory from when I still used the reader, a phone needs a bit longer on the sensor.
Still getting regular mis-scans though, I just scan again and softly curse.

I had problems with my iphone 11. I was always having to scan for readings. I had to move my phone around to get it to scan, but since upgrading to a 16 pro those problems have reduced significantly and I rarely have to scan. It does it automatically.

Which version of the Libre do you use? I don't think the standard Libre 2 sends automatic updates on BG, no matter what phone you use (unless you use a 3rd party app).

I've just put a new one on about 25 mins ago. Its reading automatically no physical scans.

Different countries seem to have different versions of the Libre, even when the versions have the same name!
In the Netherlands, Libre2 can give alarms through bluetooth, but you need to scan to get an actual number and update your graph.
You're in Canada, I'm Dutch, @LionChild is from the UK, I see a good recipe for confusion!

Which phone do you use? No issues with libre2+ either on oppo or honor200pro phone have tried on iphone15 as well which also connects fine automatically most of the time. If swimming or doing some exercise it can mess up for a little while which then requires scan to fill in missing data... Usually only issues when steep drops/rises. I'm UK have posted screenshot with version of libre i have installed

I have tried scanning by taking the case off the phone but it has made no difference. This is so frustrating! It does not scan properly about 9 times out of 10. Surely I am not the only one getting fed up with this? I end up just using my little meter as that never fails, but sometimes I would like to use my phone because the interface is so much better.
